Should I move TV from front to inside the cabin?

I have a 2000 Winnebago and the TV is old and in the front of the RV. I kind of like it there as you can see it from any seat in the cabin, but I am assuming the light from the TV at night would make it hard for the driver to see out the windows. (I want the kids to be able to watch while driving). So I am thinking of moving (while upgrading to LED) it to the side of the cabin.
just want to get a little feedback to make sure I am not missing something and maybe there is a better way around this. :)

  • I moved ours from the usual place

into a lift cabinet behind the pax seat

There was a recliner and a lamp table there originally. I used the wood from the lamp table to make a new overhead cabinet where the old tube TV was.

A side note: Safari used the TV as a backup camera monitor. That's right, when you turned on the backup camera, the inverter kicked on and the front TV turned on. I needed to replace the camera and monitor, so I went to RVCams and they set me up. No re-wiring, just a few connectors and I could used the old coax.
  • Thank you all... I have decided that I will keep the tv in the front and just add a second in the cab. One for watching on the road and one for watching while parked.
    what the heck... :)
  • move it

you would need to disconnect the safety anyway
    to use it while driving
most (if not all) have a ignition powered relay that disconnects the TV power when the engine is on
  • I think you answered your own question. Works for the kids and not distract the driver. Move it.
