Slide-out Rocker Switch question

Hey all ... I was repositioning the Extend/Retract switch for the slide-outs on our 2014 FunFinder, and one of the wires came loose. Uggghhh. For the life of me, I can't figure out what it was attached to. In the pic, it's the other end of the black wire that I can't find the connection for. I THINK the black and the green are related to power ... but I'm not 100% sure. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Couldn't figure out how to insert the pic ... link to it below

  • Well don't know about the wire but a multimter can help figure it out. Post photos: photo
  • Red is +, white is -, the other 2 supply power to the motor. The DPDT center off switch reverses the motor polarity so the slide goes in or out.
  • I agree with the others that most likely red and white are power in, and black and green go to the motor. However, it is worth noting that it's possible (but would be atypical) for red and white to go to the motor, and black and green to power and ground; the net effect is the same, electrically speaking.
  • I would say the black and green are from the battery and are the source of power for the motor. The red and white go to the motor. You should see 12 volts on the black and green.

That would surprise me as the pic suggests a DPDT switch that reverses the polarity to the motor.

How do you suggest the slide goes in and out?

Their schematic leaves a lot to be desired.

It works exactly the same as if the black and green wires go to the motor and the red and white to the battery. The polarity gets reversed between the two pairs of wires, and it doesn't matter which is the "input" and which is the "output."

OK, I didn't interpret the black and green as being + and -, thanks for the input.
