Here you can see the video:Eternabond video. I actually used Eternabond Webseal and it performed just like the video depicts, covering the screw head and filling the hole as I turned the fastener, amazing stuff!westend wrote:
If you use Eternabond Double-Stick tape over each hole, while you are fastening, the tape will seal each screw hole.
That's a very good idea. I've used EB before but did not think of using it in that way.
Nice info westend. Thanks for passing that along. - MrWizardModerator

3m double sided tape, research it, it's not tape the way you know it...
great for fiberglass or Alu
i would not do that to a rubber roof
many rubber roofs get bubbles
bubbles won't hurt a bare roof
but a bubble under the panel or under the mounting feet would mean
no mount, just a loos foot vibrating bouncing with the rubber, while going down the road
screw the feet down, use the right sealant on them
i screwed eleven panels to my rubber roof - westendExplorer

I used Instapark® ZJ-34W Universal Drill-free Solar Panel Rooftop Mount and Sikaflex 252
No holes in the roof.
When I bought the Instapark - it was $35. It has gone up in price
I have never seen anything like that before and it looks pretty cool - rkentzelExplorerAfter you drill the first hole you throw up and the rest go easy.

I'll be the first to say holes in the roof is no biggie. Punched 48 of them for my panels. With proper sealant you're fine.
ditto
I the previous coach, I had 48 holes too. Used Butyl tape under brackets and Dicor over bolts and around edge of bracket.
Never leaked a drop
