As for doing a class C this way, it sounds like a great idea. My old 77 Dodge C was running so close its GVW all the time that I had to plan my trips based on how much beer I could carry. And that tired old 360 had to drag it all around. If you can knock a thousand pounds off the weight this way, your drivetrain and suspension will certainly thank you for it. Your payload and tow capacity will go up, and you'll get exactly what you want.
This build has really made me look at how living inside a square box isn't necessarily the ideal shape for the human form, but it's the easiest and least expensive shape to build.
Don't get down on the speed of your build - it looks like this one's going quick but it's just because I'm putting up big panels and foam is so easy to shape. Once the panels are roughed out, it will be back to a glacier's pace...
