Real cool on posting the glass-built stringer. I've seen it before in different boats and always wondered how that was layed up. If you're going to mount a panel up there, I wonder how easy or efficient it would be to install the fastening system for the panel at the construction phase? I'm installing solar, presently, and one of the considerations is the location of structural framing under the roof skin, i.e. I want to fasten the panel mounts into a rafter for the best support.
