While I agree the look is not going to win any beauty contest, I would certainly rather place that tote on the outside of my vehicle that on the inside....so looks aside, the above solution for those who carry a tote seems fairly reasonable. I have a tote, but struggle all the time on where to put it when traveling...the pictured solution is as valid as any other I've seen. IMHO
