Thomas Payne, Rec Pro, or Best Furniture

I will 2nd the recommendation for Brad and Hall furniture in Elkhart. We purchased a Lafer "Kiri" chair from them more than 13 years ago and it is still in use today with no visible wear or mechanical failure.

It is a very comfortable chair that I use every day. It replaced a fairly large upholstered recliner that came with the trailer when new. I like it because it does not take up a lot of room yet it swivels and reclines completely in addition to being comfortable for either sitting or sleeping. :)


We also replaced the uncomfortable sofa/bed that came with it with a leather reclining sofa that we got from Costco. You can see it in use here.

We’ve had our Thomas Payne reclinig sofa and stand alone recliner for 3 1/2 years and ar satisfied with the way it has worn, we are not full timers. The sofa we had is three parts with the storage box in the middle to kept the air bed which we quit trying to use. The storage box has been a good spot to have some things in while traveling but limits the width of the cushion even though it’s padded. The stand alone recliner is difficult for my wife to use so now we have a small ottoman for that purpose.

When the day comes we replace them, Lazy Boys will be our top choice

We are interested not in the theater seating but the EURO swivel recliners. Our son has a residential brand/size one and loves it! The REC PRO site shows a weight of 50# each while the Thomas Payne site shows a 62# weight each! Could this be article weight vs shipping weight? The two brands look identical. Heavier duty, higher qualitie materials etc? Guess that I will have to call each Co. to find out (maybe). Wish that we could see, feel each one!

You may want to check their website, I looked at the list of distributors for Best and was surprised to see 5 or 6 within 25 miles of here.

I bought a recliner from Lane Home furnitures from this furniture store in Calgary last year for my kid. It is soft grey fabric and can be easily cleaned using a damp cloth. My son is very naughty and the fact that it still is holding up the way it was is surprising. :D

Our Keystone Montana came with the Thomas Payne recliners/theater seating. Both of the cables that release the recliner mechanism broke within two years. Repairing the broken cables is a PIA. We may use our camper more than others, 200 days per year or so. The cup holders are only large enough for a 12 oz.can with a thin koozie. My Tervis cup wouldn't fit. We replaced them with Lazy Boy recliners.

I'd forget Thomas Payne because it's a Lippert product. We removed our Lippert jacknife sofa to install a double recliner and couldn't believe how cheaply and poorly it was made. Total Garbage.

We installed a Lambright power double recliner made by Harrison. Excellent quality, very well made and very comfortable. We use the power recline feature a lot and was worth the extra $$. Lambright is available from a few dealers around the US including Brad & Hall. Lambright recliners are true wall huggers. They have a range of different styles and dimensions of RV furniture.

Lambright isn't the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Recpro isn't the greatest quality and we read some bad reviews before.

I bought the RecPro. Dual recliner theater seats about a year ago and have had no trouble with them. We are full timers so they get used every day and they are holding up good.

Not sure why anyone would buy Thomas PITA furniture after reading about possible peeling, failing power controls, etc. But then again we still buy RV's with all the trouble they have.
