Toilet hand spray?

The sprayer doesn't care if it's in an RV or not.
It's either water-tight, or it isn't.

I guess my question should have been would a sprayer from Home depot fit?

Yes! It is a universal Sink Sprayer Hose and Nozzle!
However have You checked that there isn't a crack in the white plastic splitter T or whatever that thing is called. Ours acted the same way as Yours ,it had a tiny crack that opened up just enough to drip whenever We connected to City Water. I guess that the on board pump wasn't capable of developing enough pressure to cause it to leak.
Also check those hose clamps. They sometimes strip and can't tighten properly!

AH, when I tested it at storage I used the pump on the trailer and no leaks anywhere, I will have to check it when I bring it home next week using city water, but when it was leaking there was no water around the toilet, the only water was right under the nozzle, the nozzle leaks for a few seconds after you hang it up on the wall and with 2 10 year old girls going back and forth to the bathroom I can see where the water would go under the toilet and leak on the other side of plywood. I will order the T in case it is cracked.

I have always attached a pressure regulator on my hose but when I went camping the last time I did not use it, could that be why the toilet leaked?

Mine would weep slightly when hooked up to city water without a pressure regulator (mine broke).

But once I replaced the pressure regulator, it stopped leaking.

I know it was an issue with the install, though, because a home-use sprayer wouldn't have an RV pressure regulator, and should stand-up to city water it's designed to be used with LOL

My trailer has a built in pressure regulator. I have one but had never used it. I went to this campground last year (Camp Nauvoo, IL) that had INSANE pressure, and actually stretched the hose a bit, to the point that it wouldn't roll up without kinking. I had to replace it. Plumbing in the trailer was OK.

Now I always use the regulator, if only to protect my hose.

Here's a tip and you can tell your friends you heard it here first. All RV toilets have a "fill" position on the flush valve. The ones with levers on the side have a small lever that runs the water without opening the flush valve. Mine has a foot pedal that press to flush, if you lift it up with your toe it fills the bowl without flushing.

Before you use the commode for #2, use the fill valve to fill the bowl with water about 1/2 way, just like a residential commode. The water in the bowl keeps it clean, and everything will flush cleanly without any need to spray, while also using less water overall.

So forget the sprayer.

I once saw this paper product that goes into the toilet like a coffee filter to protect stuff from getting on the sides.

You can lay 3 or 4 short pieces of TP across each other in the bowl and get just about the same effect.
