It looks like it will work great. I hope it does not wiggle to much with all that weight about 5' above the mounting point. All that height can bend things because of the length, a little pressure is multiplied by the 5 feet of distance, so 35 pounds of pressure becomes 150 foot pounds of torque.
The total height of the rack is 33", nowhere close to 5". I was a bit concerned about the stress at the tubing weld point, that is why I installed the gussets. The rack is rock solid now. It is plenty strong to hold two bikes, however I wouldn't put a 4 bike rack on it. - Golden_HVACExplorer

- jfkmkExplorerGreat job! I was looking for some way to bring our bikes when we tow our trailer. Wound up buying a front-mounted trailer hitch for our Envoy. Fits the bike rack perfectly. The other advantage is it doesn't add any tongue weight.
