tv antenna boosters

We have an Amerilite 21 TT. It did not come with the built in tv signal amplifier. We do have the wingman.
A few years ago while camping with very weak tv signal, we stopped at an Ace hardware and I bought an amplifier. It made a big difference.
Recently on a 2 week trip in the mountains of NC, after driving we found it on the floor, and haven't had any signal since. I bypassed it and got a weak signal.
Can anyone recommend one, or explain what I should be looking for in one. TIA
  • Do a search on this forum and check out all the threads on antennas, boosters, wiring, and how to do its. Its all been posted and explained in detail many times. Too much information to go back and try to repeat again. Depending on where you are, there just may not be much signal available. Generally antenna boosters are OK, but if there is nothing there, there is nothing to boost. Digital signals do not seem to just taper off with distance, at some point they just drop completely. The old analog signals just tapered off with distance, and antenna amplifiers really helped. Not so much with digital now
  • I'm surprised a 2009 model would NOT have amplified antenna.

Amplifier is IN the head of antenna
Wall plate TV coax cable connects to has ON/OFF button
ON..DC powers amplifier for TV reception'
OFF...when using cable connection on exterior of RV
