Question

Here is my blog post discussing the hows and whys -- it's pretty long, so I did not want to repeat it all on the forum:

Bottom line -- the installation went well, and the product seems to work as advertised.

Next big project will be to finish insulating and enclosing the underbelly, but this heat cable is a good start.

Yikes.... the font was so small on your blog, I gave up on reading it after the first sentence.  Tip:  make the font bigger.  That looks like about a 8 or 9 font size

I made a recirculating system by running a hose from a hot water line under a sink to a vent line into the tank.  Using a multi-turn valve to meter the flow the system can heat the tank and plumbing at all times.

Very cool! Does the direct to battery hookup need to be fused or is there one inline in the wire?

I did not put a fuse in the wire -- I probably could have/should have, but this is a very low amperage application.  When it is connected, it just draws 2 amps directly from the battery.
