Uncomfortable folding bed

I have a new 5th wheel with a leatherette couch that folds down into a bed. I have slept on this several times and find it very uncomfortable. I can feel the hinged areas and even with a pad or extra blankets, it just doesn't provide a flat, even surface to find comfort for my old body. I heard about an inflatable mattress that can be used on top of the folded down couch that might provide some comfort. Anyone ever try one of these?
