Uncomfortable sofa bed

Ok, so we have used our new to us MH several times now. We have come to the conclusion the couch sucks. The Jackknife in our Cherokee was way more comfortable! This one feels like you are going to slide off when you are sitting on it. Plus it’s missing the blowup bed. I really don’t want to buy a blow up mattress if there is something better I can replace the entire sofa with. I was thinking of theater seating or 2 recliners but we don’t want to lose the sofa bed sleeping. Plus the TV would be 90deg to the chairs.

Anyone have any ideas?
  • you need a air dream mattress its a mattress with a air mattress built in with it comes with a pump about 300 dollars very comfortable
  • Add a mattress pad. I have have good success using backpacking type sleeping pads. I like the Thermarest Basecamp especially. Easy to stow and they take up little room.
  • Just to clear things up. It’s not the bed part (non non-existent) it’s the couch itself. When it’s folded up it’s not comfortable to sit on.
I know I can replace it, but with what?
  • Just replace the foam inside the cushions. Use a better quality foam from a foam store. It will cost a couple of hundred bucks but is cheaper than new furniture and quality foam will last a long time.
  • I replaced my factory sofa sleeper with one of these and have been very happy with it.

    Shop for seats

It is a little pricey but it is more comfortable for both sitting and sleeping plus is much easier to convert.
  • Yes, you can do as advised - just try to do everything manually with the old sofa. I think it is better to replace, as this is a guarantee of quality. I looked at that link, there really are good options
  • Thanks again. I do like what I see. My problem is I’m stuck for sizes. Move sofa (love seat) is 60” wide. That leaves me very little options. I’m sure I’ll find something, just got to find it.
