Upgrade LED lighting

I also didn't like the bathroom lighting. So I bought another switch and two switch holder for it. Then bought three 20" bright white LED strips. Made three wood strips about one inch wide and routed out the center for the strips. Then drilled a hole in the wall and tied the wires to the new strip. Also stained the wood so it matches. My wife loves it, has plenty of light.

PS - I hooked up the black and white wires from the coach wiring to the corresponding wires on the residential light fixture.

After taking everyone's advice and checking polarity, blown fuse etc. it still didn't work :(
So I tried the next best, test the bulb to see if it was good or not, since Menards didn't have a tester I bought a new bulb and it worked. !
The light bulb I listed works with a residential light fixture on a 12 volt RV system.

PS- the light fixture is a great upgrade and the light bulb is definite improvement over the LED light that was original equipment.

The M4 Product has a regulator and is polarity independent. Other aspects include the LED type which controls brightness and light color. And it may cost more than what you can get on eBay.

I'm an electrical engineer, so I'm well aware of the nomenclature as well as the difference between AC and DC. However, "hot" and "ground" are terms often used when referring to 12vdc automotive (and RV) systems, so that's why I used them. In any case, my point was simply that while black wires are most often associated with "negative" on automotive 12v systems, that may not be the case in an RV. Someone more familiar with autos could easily assume that the white wire in an RV light fixture is the + lead and the black the - lead, and since LEDs, unlike incandescent, are polarity specific...

There is really no accepted standard in the RV world for colors. My rig 12V positive has yellow, red and black. Negative is both white and black. Probably more colors if I dig further.

I didn't know either that such a lamp existed. I have to wonder how efficient they are, esp. compared to LED?

I wonder if perchance you happened to get a dud? I would try running a couple of pieces of wire directly from your battery and see if the lamp lights up.
