Vent covers, camco, etc.

I did some minor chalking a month back. While doing it It dawned on me that I need to pull my Camco covers off to inspect the caulking, that is a pain in the --. From what I have seen they are all the same as far as attachment, correct? Do the edges of the vents help keep the caulking underneath in better shape?

  • The ones I have seen are actually attached to the vertical part of the vent and not through the roof. So you just have to make sure no rain gets past the outside. Caulking underneath doesn't deteriorate nearly as fast as the caulk in the sun. I don't worry about it.
