VMAX, are they any good?

So I'm looking to upgrade my battery bank to around 800AH. and add 960W worth of solar to keep everything running for wild camping. Long term I'll probably upgrade to a lithium battery bank but for right now, I'm just looking for what I can get under $1500. I found these vmax solar batteries, and I'm thinking about using them to build my bank. Before I make a commitment to them, though, I wanted to know if anyone else Has ever heard of them or have any thoughts on the subject.

  • Would you build your Bank, from these:

    Or these:

I'm curious cause I've seen a few bad reviews on the Vmax's, I'm leaning more on the 6v batteries now because of the reviews. Oh and I have a 3000w MAGNUM MAGN-MSH3012M inverter and charger.
  • What size MW?
    How many input Watts?

It is the older GE Profile type. I think it is about 1100 watts. We use it when stopped for lunch while driving to heat up our sandwiches, about 2 minutes total. Our previous 2000 watt inverter would not run the microwave full power, but it died. Also have 300 watts solar and I have not checked the battery voltage after using the microwave. Our previous batteries which were probably always bad and would not run the microwave.
    Are you affiliated with Vmax?

If you are asking me. No. Maybe I didn't word my comment about longevity correctly. I meant that I don't know about the longevity of the Vmax batteries and that this would be important when deciding to buy these batteries or not. I decided the price was good enough compared to other AGM batteries at the time to try them. On our motorhome it is very hard to check the water level of the batteries and to fill them even when I tried a battery filling system.

Our MW is 1685 input Watts
Over 140 amps into the inverter if powering the MW

I have (5) agm batteries, and still prefer to use the generator for the MW
  • I have had them for about a year now. Seem to be fine, but it is the longevity that will the most important. I have six with a 2800 watt inverter and easily run the microwave.
