my chieftain had a "final filter" on the line to the ice maker and to the tall spigot at the kitchen sink for drinking water. it was in the kitchen drawer when I got the RV and there was a bypass plate on instead of the filter. the filter was still in the drawer when I traded it in 14 years later. If I was concerned with drinking water I would get a PUR or similar type of set up for drinking water and not fuss with bottled water with those issues.
