I removed all my low point drain plugs and replaced with valves. Much easier to open/close and no tools required.

how does that help with the water heater?

By my way of thinking, it would seem to indirectly indicate you could but a valve on your water heater drain also. But that’s just me.

no the plug he is talking about is like on my camper.. where you would expect to see the "anode" there is just a nylon plug as the tank inside is lined or coated so you don't need an anode to prevent corrosion.
but I wonder if you could thread a valve in there, it would be big that's the only issue
