I'm using my Weber Q 100% on the trailer as I know I'll never drive out to the trailer storage to get the BBQ for a trip to the park. But I can see why people would want to set it up as you've described. Instead of tapping into the gas line as I will do, you'd need something like this on the RV propane tank:
