What are my Directv Dish Options

I have DirecTv in my RV Currently using a Tripod Slimline Dish with SWM3 LNB. 3 Receivers all H25's. I would like to goto an automatic dish prefer portable. Are any of you using a Wingard portable automatic dish with your set up? I don't want to go with the Roof Mount Dish.
Thanks

  • And Oh by the way, if you are in South Dakota, and since to rapid city, they only have HD. So no local channels on your SD receiver.
Now if you are smart, you would use a Denver Address and you would still have the local channels even in Rapid City
  • To use the H25 receivers you will require a SWM setup. The Carryout portable dome can have the SWM8 hardware added and it will work with your 3 H25's just like they now work with your tripod with the exception that you will not get the HD versions of the available channels (231 Food Network? Yes! 231 Food Network HD? No.)
The SWM8 setup requires a different power inserter than is used by your current tripod antenna so just be sure you keep the 2 systems separate and the correct hardware connected to each.

I have a Vuqube Flex VQ2100 that I dearly love. It is not SWM compatible though. You would have to get receivers that are capable of a multi-switch hookup.

We have a carryout and it is great.

we also use the carry out for sd with direct but if I had it to do over i would use dish when on the road since the carry out will receive dish HD but not direct HD. We had Direct in the house first so went with it when we travel.
