Problem is, a Sportsman 850 isn't 48" wide. It's 51" wide. Two of these will rub if you have happijack bed tracks on either side... They're fatties.
When I researched before I posted I found the 2014 specs said, "Overall Vehicle Size (L x W x H) 83.25 x 47.6 x 50.75" I'd be very surprised they were stock over 48" since many places like the Paiute trail limit ATVs to a maximum of 48" and it's a standard for the USFS too.
Found with mine airing them up could save enough space to even get in around
Wrong!
Forest service, WA, ID, UT, Paiute and OR ATV trails are set at 50'' NOT 48''
Some states consider 48'' for licensing definitions of ATVs but not the trails. Never seen a 48'' wide trail and I've got tons of miles in OR, UT, WA, ID, etc... hence we also have a 50'' RZR.
Most quads from the factory are right under 48'' but many of us add differnt tires/wheels and end up just under the 50'' limit. My 550 Sportsman is about 49.5'' wide with 27'' mud tires on it. My 850 Scrambler is 100% stock and under 48'' wide just barely.
This is what makes two large utility quads side by side in a toy hauler garage very difficult.
