- lgray12845ExplorerThese RV Kayak Racks are seen everywhere on RV's including Fifth Wheels with a frame mounted class three receiver. They hold bikes and kayaks normally 11' or less in length. Just Search for RV Kayak Racks and look for the company online. It is the only company making these and they have patents on it.
- crcrExplorerSaw this
on local craigslist, of fiver with two kayaks for sale. One of the pics shows two kayaks mounted on the rear of the fiver.
screen capture windows 7 - HalmfamilyExplorerWe have a second outside door that opens to our master bedroom and can fit 2 of our kayaks on the king bed. Just enough room for them. Bikes go inbetween the two coaches in the front of the fiver.
- RedF-350ExplorerYou could always build a support on your bumper that carries the weight and then use small ratchet straps on the ladder to keep it in place.
- HalmfamilyExplorerI use one of the chair racks Chopperbill is showing and 6 bungee cords. It does not move an inch. Make sure you don't cover up your tail lights as a friendly state trooper pointed out to me. I do also carry two more kayaks plus four bikes in my fiver. Good luck.
- Like I said above I put the kayak in my open range for the first time last night. Carried it in by myself. Tried it in the livingroom. Not quite enough room when the big slide went in. Unless I can talk the wife into leaving one of the kitchen chairs at home. Next location was the kingsize bed. That works. I asked the wife for some old blankets to keep it from rubbing on some woodwork and she suggested tying it down to the bed. Got out a ratchet strap, lifted the bed (storage under the sheet of plywood), ran the strap under the plywood, positioned the kayak so it can not touch anything and strapped it down tight. By using the strap I was able to leave part of the kayak overhang out into the bathroom where there is nothing to touch.
- billmacExplorerI load my 12ft kayak into fiver, without any assistants or stress. Place 2x4 foot carpet in doorway of fiver. Raise front of kayak into doorway onto carpet. Lift rear of kayak/cart and push into trailer on an angle. Kayak will slide on carpet. Position kayak and gently close slides. Place carpet, cushions and pillows to protect cabinets. Kayak travels on cart so it is easy to position and unload. (The only time the kayak loading requires strength is when the cart wheels leave the ground going into the trailer).
Kayak cart is milk crate, 1/4 inch plywood, thin wall 4 inch pvc pipe, with one tie-down strap. All pieces are held together with large zip ties. Cart will effortlessly go thru narrow doorways. Jack stand was for picture and is not used. - Poppy_s_5th_WheExplorer

Dining slide is opposite my door. Slide is out giving plenty of room to get yak in, raise that end of the yak, and ticky it around to get the whole yak in the door. Kinda like working an overstuffed chair thru a door...a little at a time.
I think the answer for me is that I would need to just borrow a kayak and test it to see if I can do exactly as you describe. Without a doubt the slides would have to be open while loading and unloading. Might not be worth it since we often want to go in the trailer between point A and point B. Can't see moving around the obstruction. - remoandirisExplorer

I'm curious how you guys who are storing them inside are getting them in there? Our door is in the middle of the trailer and I can't picture getting them in there.
I second this question. Somebody *puh-leese* send a photo on how you get a kayak in there. Oh, for the record, our Copper Canyon does not have a tail window that opens/slides wide enough for anything besides insects. :(

I brought my through my door and laid it on the bed..never moved...got to where we were going, it was the first thing out the door...no big deal.
