We've all been on rides where one or two dumbasses slow the ride down so much that it keeps you on the trail too late. Twelve bikes is a pretty big group to keep in order.
I'm glad nobody was hurt though. At least their wives probably won't let them ride anymore. :B
I was on a ride like this once. Eight AM and two guys were pounding buds at every break. After lunch, they disappeared, and we spent the next several hours looking for them thinking they took a wrong turn. Found out later that they turned back, then flipped their machine on a particularly gnarly hill, requiring a medical extraction.
No judgement here, but I don't drink when I wheel and I sure as heck tell the group if I am bailing or splitting off.
