I didn't say better than a big rig but I will say big rigs and buses bother my 5th wheel less than they did my Peterbilt. If you think a 31' BP behind a 150 pulls as good as a big rig or a 5th wheel, good luck. Just ask anyone who has gone from a BP to a 5th wheel.

IMO a short bed is 6.5 - 6.75 ft. A 5.5 ft. is a short, short, bed and may not have sufficient distance from the back of the cab to just in front of the back axle where the hitch center should be. With a quick google I found one article saying the Reese Revolution needs a 6 ft. bed. Even better, eTrailer has an answer on how to measure your truck to see if the Revolution will fit.

Once you go 5th, you will have a hard time going back to a TT.

I suspect the strong opinion many have about 1/2 ton vs 3/4 ton towing is based on towing a TT with the 1/2, then, switching to a 3/4 or 1 ton with a 5th. The biggest difference is the trailer, not necessarily just the truck.

I don't think this would be considered a Hijack so here goes.

To all of us [COLOR=]"You need a 250/2500 or a 350/3500" "1/2 Ton Tow able" may soon have a new meaning!!

The new Aluminum bodied F150 EB,, is said to be on a 700# weight loss diet, but will retain the Max/Max package of 8,200# GVWR!

That said the max payload the right F150 could be in the 3,700# range!! That is approaching the 350/3500 SRW range.

Granted getting 3,700# of payload on a 4,800# axles will a bit tricky, we might see payloads in the 3,400# range. That would be a lot of 5er on a very light truck!
