12 volt LED for interior steps

I am looking for ideas on adding 12 volt LED lighting to the steps in my 5th wheel. I just want enough light to identify the steps in the dark, not light up the room. Has anyone come up with a good solution.
Thanks
Bill

  • There are lots of small battery operated motion sensing lights on the internet. I forgot where I got mine now but I just mounted it in the stairwell with with 3M VHB tape and I was done. Batteries last about 6 months. I had to place some duct tape over the sensor to make the light less sensitive. This way, it would come on once motion was detected in the stairwell but would not come on when we were walking around the interior of the RV.
  • go to auto part's stort get any of 12 v light and wire it up i put 3 blue in 1 for each step it came with switch and all
  • I got a motion-sensor light from WalMart and mounted it on the wall just above the steps. I had to block off part of the "eye" because it picked up movement from too far away, but now it works great. It only comes on when someone is at the steps.
