12 volt LED for interior steps

X2! Love those step lights and inside LED lights on our rig. When we open the entry door or screen a built in threshold lite strip comes on. The trailer came with 12 volt indirect LED rope lighting under the bottom cabinet and on top of the top cabinets. I called Hitchhiker and ordered an extra 15 feet and placed them outside just under the side panels leading to the steps. I have not seen any 12 volt LED rope lights anywhere, but Hitchhiker parts department carries them. The older I get the more lights I like!

I also used a 22 watt warm white strip along the top of my slide behind the trim to put a nice ambient light in the main area by bouncing the light spread along the length off the ceiling,,,,, it so much nicer than the factory lighting

Rob, how did you run the 12 volt power to those lights

mine has a little recess in the wood work over the middle step, so I installed a 1/2 watt cube, and one also in the bathroom, so now I flip the(night light) switch and no lights need be turned on for the late night visit to the john or to the kitchen

There are lots of bulkhead mount chart lights or step lights for boats that are red for night vision. try one of those.

I bought these 12 Volt LEDs off the internet, they light up our hallway and steps great.

Note: Since the Hallway lights worked so good, I have added two more LEDs on the actual steps since this picture was taken

You probably could find a very low output LED fixture, battery powered and always-on, and just stick it on the wall down low, below the edge of the bed or below the top step. We got a cheap (dollar store) "tap light" that my wife keeps on her side of the bed. If she needs to get up, she just grabs it, turns it on and uses it as a "lantern". I'm good enough in the dark that I can just slide out of bed and right onto the steps. So long as I don't leave my shoes in the way, I'm OK. :-)

I used one of These in my stair well and 2 outside, one on each side of the step.

They are hooded with a frosted lens and direct the light down and are not so bright as to be distracting. Nice even light.
