I thought about just doing blocks too but everything I read and everyone I talk to say blocks are no bueno. Not sure why it's different than with blocks on say a truck but I figure my trailer is new and I want good long service from it. So ill spend a little more for it to be done right.
Tires on a multi axle trailer being in the center of a long heavy box slide sideways (side scrub) as the trailer is pulled around a corner unlike a truck with tires at the corners with the front turning into the corner and the rear simply following.
Side scrubbing (side loading) action adds tremendous stress to all the suspension parts, especially the U bolts that will have to be much longer. Single axle trailers are a exception as the tires simply rolls around corners as the trucks rear tires.
Tires wheels and suspension parts on our trucks aren't subjected to this type of side loading stress.
