It would seem like just normal maneuvering in a tight parking lot or campground would create such side scrubbing loading stress. I often hear popping and clicking while backing into a spot. And I understand that more stress would be places on u bolts if they were longer but 2" doesn't seem like much. But what do I know, that's why I'm asking.
I'll poke around a few local machine shops if I have time prior to Friday and see what they say about blocks.
Still leaning to subframe but no way I will spend 1500 more above my quote for air suspension on my economy trailer.
