Is it just a water stain, or is it actual water damage. If it's just a stain, like stated above, it could be the slide seal, or possibly, the slide was pulled in during rain, and it just stained.
Look closer at it. If it appears to be just surface then there's not much to be concerned over. If it's got wood rot (for example, the paneling), then RUN!
