2012 Voltage 3905

Bought a 2012 Voltage 3905 from Holman Motors in September 2011. Sales experience was great, service suffered badly. Had numerous problems every time I called and spoke to Service got the Silver platter treatment and when hung up the phone it was as if I never existed. Still having major issues today and I took the unit to a local dealer September 11, 2012 and it's still has issues. The only time the slides worked correctly was when we put them out after it was delivered. Bedroom slide leaked, dealer had to replace the whole bedroom floor, Kitchen slide leaked, compressed moulding inside had to be replaced due to expanding and cracking. Television reception was none existent from day one. New slide motors were installed on the bedroom slide, now the main slide motors need to be replaced. Dutchmen is denying warranty stating that warranty is based on month's and not the 4 times we attempted to use them. We now wonder when the Kitchen slide motors will need to be replaced.

  • RV warranties are a joke, period. You pay big money for this junk and get a whopping 1 yr warranty on an item that might see a couple weeks actual use during that year. Whoop. Dee. Doo.
  • My experience with Dutchmen is that if you log a warranty issue with them (not the dealer) BEFORE the warranty expires, they will live up to it.

Try contacting Schwinteck about the slides - they may be able to help.
  • Welcome to RV.net. I'd encourage you to read the forum, sadly you're not alone with some issues with their Voltage units.

However, most RV warranties are based on time not use. This happens often when a unit is purchased in the fall and may sit, unused, all winter long. If you have documentation from the dealer showing you've been working on the issues that may help you, but if you are just now bringing items up after the warranty you'll be hard pressed to get them to repair it after the warranty expired.

Over my time here on the forums one thing I learned was while under warranty get it in for service and inspection of the problem right away. Provide your dealer a list of problems, in writing, and ask each to be addressed and resolved. Keep your dealers intake paperwork, then make sure they address each issue, showing in writing how it was resolved or if not why not.
