2014-2016 Dodge and Chevy owners

Hello, I am doing some inquiring and was hoping any owners would be able to tell me what they are getting for fuel mileage (diesel) with these rigs specifically looking at dually in the one ton. I currently own a 2008 Ford F450 and pull a 35 foot Open Range fifth wheel. My fuel mileage on this thing is 6-8 mpg when pulling and 10-11.5 empty. I know there are probably other variables but just something in general on highway and in town pulling and not pulling would be great. thanks.

  • I have a 2014 GMC dually. I get 8.5 to 10.5 towing a 17K fiver. I get between 15 and 17 on the highway empty.
  • We have a 2015 Ram dually long bed towing about 16K and consistently get 10-12 towing and can get as much as 22 in perfect conditions but more like 18-19 when not towing.
  • RAM should be ten or over towing. Depending on the gears you choose, the bobtail mileage will be 17 or 18 with 4:100's and maybe higher with 3.73 or 3.42. My SRW 3500 gets 17-18 with mixed driving. And 10-12 towing 12.5K fiver, have not towed enough with the Big Horn 5th wheel to give a report, however it seems similar. Got 18 at 80MPH in Wyoming and 21 at 65MPH. Chris
