a.dog - yes i did, here is my initial feedback.
medium to major issues -
1. bathroom sink leaks - A LOT. apparently someone forgot to install the gasket and decided to caulk the **** out of it with cheap caulk. now it dumps water all over under the sink. we had to jerry rig as it's in our seasonal camp site right now and i won't be able to get it repaired until Sep.
2. phantom leak under door. we have two drips coming off of rig which we can't figure out why. may be due to gray water overflow.
3. electrical system is FUBAR p1 - i got the full stereo system, and when running the b speakers (i.e. the ones in the body of the RV) the speakers cut out intermittently.
4. electrical system is FUBAR p2 - the tv's don't work and all wiring is ugly at best. when they installed the coax cables they bent 1/2 of them at 90 degree angles and the internal cables are now exposed / dont' work
5. electrical system is FUBAR p3 - the running lights and backup lights stopped working
6. electrical system is FUBAR p4 - when running the stereo (only, no lights nothing else) it blows the overload circuit on the solar system. because this is mounted in the storage space under the rig, this caused me some battery problems until i figured it out
minor annoyances -
1. no gray water tank release handle / rod was installed on rig
2. no license plate mount kit
3. granite cover for kitchen sink didn't fit, and dealer / Eclipse ordered replacement which we never got
4. screen / rig door was majorly out of alignment, have had to fix 3 times now already
5. dealer and(or) mfr did a ****ty job prepping / cleaning the rig before delivery. we had sawdust and other building materials in every cabinet, bed, floor, etc.
All in all, i feel like the Jayco was probably built better compared to the Eclipse based on what I've seen to date.
Eclipse has a lot of work to do to get me back to a happy customer, and if my service experience is as bad as yours (likely to be worse as i have NO local dealers in NorCal), this is not going to be fun
I remember reading someone else's quote about Eclipse units - something to the effect of "Either you get one with basically NO problems or you get a lemon with a ton of major issues that never should have passed QC."
Which model did you end up getting? The 27DBLG or the 28IBLG? I ordered mine about a month before they came out with the 28iBLG, and I wish I'd known they were going to offer one with the bed rotated the right way & the better bathroom, because I'd have waited to order it.
Mine's at my local dealership's repair shop (not where I purchased it down in Sac) for a few warranty repairs (no power to galley outlet, also not a GFCI outlet, and the shower enclosure leaks). My neighbor & a couple friends locally swear by the service department at my local shop, so I'm glad they agreed to do the work rather than having to tow it down to Sac. They're also going to install a MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe that I purchased for the bathroom to replace the inadequate little fan with the hard-to-reach on/off button & crank.
At some point I will probably post up a buy/build thread on my "Stellar" experience, but one thing I've learned with them is that you have to stay on top of the company's service department to make sure you get your warranty repairs approved & expedited so you don't have to wait for 4 months for a list of simple stuff to be corrected that should have been caught during QC before the thing ever left the factory.
Hope you get everything ironed out well & get to enjoy your sizable investment.
