2014 Forest River Wildcat 327CK

Looking for some feedback on unit for our daughter. It would be her first RV. Would be for her, our two grandsons (11 & 15), her boyfriend and his daughter (13). Her boyfriend has an F350 diesel that he is planning to tow this with.

Trying to get a feel for whether this is a good brand/model. We have a lot of information about motorhomes but know very little about fifth wheels and towing them.

It will probably sit in a full hook-up campground most of the summer camping season with the exception of a few trips of one week or so. I doubt they will tow it more than 800 miles or so one way.

The boyfriend will be using it for a base for hunting (still full hook-ups) during deer season in Eastern Maryland area.

We have been having the discussion about looking at used units too but they are both attracted to the idea of a warranty.

I think the biggest problem they will face is with the kids. Three boys or three girls, not such a problem, but with 2 boys and a girl, sleeping arrangements could be a problem. If they were much younger, not such a problem, but they're dealing with teens or near teen. I wish them a lot of luck, because I see privacy as a major problem that even a MH wouldn't fix.

I agree. Check out the Jayco Eagle 30.5 BHLT It has bunks in a closed off room for the boys perhaps and a loft bed on top of that for the girl. Keeps everyone seperated.
    just a thought.
  • We have a Wildcat and we have had no major problems, just small "kinks". With 3 kids, I don't understand why they would purchase a fifth wheel that only has ONE bed! Are the kids going to bed down in the living room? in the floor?

They definitely need to look at a different floorplan that would give the teens a room of their own or at least an area.

That's just my $.02 on the problem. Take a look at the bunk houses or at least something that has an area the kids can go to get out of the main room. We have a Wildcat 32QBBS so our girls have their own "area" to read, watch a video, play a game or sleep.
