Jaw thickness has zero to do with high pinning a hitch. Hell even one of SAF-Holland 150k 5th wheel hitches on big rigs can be high pinned.
I see Curt 5th wheel hitch mentioned more than any hitch brand as the hitch of choice on a couple of LTL haulers forums I frequent.
