The only real question is one only you can answer.
Where do you drive?????
Only on pavement? Dirt roads?? Wet grass???
There are advantages to 4 X 4, but if your travels ONLY take you on paved roads, with no grass campsites or dirt of any kind, then you have no need for it.
Agree.
BTW - You left out Hard Packed Sand - like Pismo, CA (Oceano Dunes).
Note: You may need to raise trailer height for bed clearance for a 4x4.
Also - you (the OP) are in *Arizona*. Some posters from colder climates *live* in snow country where 4 x 4 may be handy in winter whether towing or not!
Although I have had several 4 x 4 vehicles for a mtn cabin I owned in snow country - I did just fine with 4 x 2 there also.
Wasted the extra $ for 4 X 4s..:(
I have *always* towed TTs and 5th with two wheel drive (limited slip) - since my first TT in 1975. I don't boondock any distance off paved roads with my 5th - and never had a problem.
A friend from Oregon has towed to Alaska twice, and doesn't regret his choice of two-wheel drive.
(Including travel early in the spring due to a workcapmping job)
Common sense dictates where *not* to go, but......
*If* "Murphy" ever catches up with me, I'm confident I can extricate my vehicle...;).
Bottom line - it's *YOUR* choice, *YOUR* bucks!
If a 4 x 4 rings your chimes - go for it...:C
