Heres our Chevy with a 2012 Heartland Landmark Key Largo. Truck has 19.5 wheels and tires I put on it when I was hauling around 4000+ Truck camper and pulling a 20ft boat.
Now just the camper.
Also in this pic theres no air in the air bags. And have weighted it like it sits 4 times and not over on the pin weight and at max tow rating. Even my wife has no issues driving it. Pulls great and stops great as the 5th wheel had great breaks. Even down Mountains the allison holds it back great.
Some will say I'm crazy, Stupid and you can't tell anyone anything. But again I know how to drive and this is not my first rodeo.

Thought you might have been the reason for this thread.
Call the weight Police
I find that a 2500, is within all weights with that fiver, you must have a low pin weight due to balance.
I am the Pot to the Kettle, as I run over the TV stated GVWR, but just running the OEM camper Package, 265/75-16E tires, and still well withing the 6,084 RGAWR. - Greene728ExplorerVery entertaining thread. Wow. Just wow.
- hone_eagleExplorerPretty soon trailers will come with the axles under the door, only way to 'sell' them to the wider girly truck market. :-)
- lynndiwagonExplorerHey Pete, nice looking rig. I've almost got the same setup, only airbags. Those 19.5's provide almost as much weight rating as dually.
- larry_barnhartExplorerBeautiful fifth with a too small of truck, sorry it would not be ok with me.
chevman - Cummins12V98Explorer IIII'm glad you have your self convinced that combo is okay!
But hey I have never been to a Rodeo. - Pete_kExplorerHeres our Chevy with a 2012 Heartland Landmark Key Largo. Truck has 19.5 wheels and tires I put on it when I was hauling around 4000+ Truck camper and pulling a 20ft boat.

didn't mean to get off topic, but when asking questions about towing a 5er with a particular truck, it would be MUCH MORE PERTINENT for us to know the GVW of the 5er, and it would behoove the person asking the question, to also use that same information, it's just common sense.
I agree, the OP didn't provide much information in his post, although I did find this by going to his profile:
2007 GMC 2500HD DA SB Crew Cab
Firestone Air Bags
Pullrite Super glide Hitch
2008 Everest Fifth Wheel 295TS
But in his (and many others') defense, consider this: he's trying to avoid making a mistake. The Internet has given us the opportunity to do a lot more tire kicking than in the past. Manufacturers show Dry Weight, Dry Pin Weight, GVW, and CCC (or some combination thereof). They don't give loaded weights, not even typical or "for example" numbers. Figuring out even an estimate for wet pin weight, since on many FWs most of the storage space is ahead of the axles, and therefore much of the cargo weight will end up on the pin.
And I don't know any dealers who will let you borrow a FW for a few days so you can load all your stuff in it and take it to a CAT scale.
Sure, we could all just buy 3500 Diesel DRWs. New, they cost ~$10K than a 2500 Gas SRW. I'd rather avoid that expense, if possible. Asking what has worked for others is a way (admittedly imprecise) of getting a feel for what is legal/reasonable.
I saw all the information you just gave, and wouldn't automatically "assume" to get a 3500 diesel dually to cover, that wouldn't be practical...but GVW is posted somewhere in or on his 5th wheel. Thus, in his defense, it would be BEST to use the 5er's GVW, as opposed to it's "empty" or "dry" weight. THAT would be FAR more practical than using a weight that is pretty much useless....and I agree, NO ONE knows how much one is going to load their unit to...so to "err on the side of safety", or look at "worse case scenario"...I would prefer to look at the 5er''s GVW, figure worse case pin weight and worse case 5er weight, "JUST IN CASE", seems far more practical than figuring 5er will not be loaded at all, or trying to "ballpark" how much weight you're going to put into the 5er, (also useless)......His 2500 may be fine...but speculation can really cost you when towing, which could be the most inopportune time to find out "you figured or/or assumed wrong"....too late then.... - dballentineExplorer

Now the OTHER thing you're talking about...:)
..oh, ...no, feelings weren't hurt this time...too early and I believe we know each other well enough to know we can kid around without getting mad about it:)
