When ordering a new RAM it's a no brainer on the towing pucks and 7 pin connector in the bed. My factory option cost me $340.
Plus you get the gooseneck hitch! But most dealers do not add this option for trucks they floor.

Cummins12V98, talked me into getting my B&W 3600 25K and it's so much better and smoother then my old Reese. I have never had an air hitch but I know the cost is much higher. The puck system is a huge win for Ram IMO as Its so easy to remove and store while not in use. It comes a part in two pieces for ease of removal. It is a heavy hitch.
Geese a couple more referrals and I will qualify for the personal Factory Tour. :B
I reluctantly listened to a good friend and installed the B&W TurnoverBall and companion in my 98 RAM in 05. I still thank him every time I see him. I was so sick of the constant rattling and metal popping sounds coming from my RBW hitch it was very unnerving.

Which is the RVK3600 for the RAM with pucks! Best with long bed.
I did the RVK3270 manual slider and Demco 6099 picture frame.
Pucks can be added fairly easily to a lot truck that was not optioned with them. I did I myself in 4 hours including the 7 way outlet in the bed.
Chris
How difficult was it to get the outlet in the bed?
Drill the hole, four screws, and the pig tail plugs (T's) in at back side of the bumper pull outlet. This kit with a RAM Part number was in a Curt Box.
Wiring Kit P/N 82212195 202B $96.85
Pucks P/N 82213665AB 221C $250.00
So getting the gooseneck part also with the factory option for 400 bucks is a better deal. If I ever need that I will most likely buy or have made a plate that pins into my picture frame.
