I can't speak for you but we use it while boondocking on forest service roads that are really only ruts and trails. I wont use 4x4 for traction to get into a spot but the 4x4 low gives me the gearing to go over obstacles very slowly and controlled.
That's not to say I would buy a 4x4 just as a TV, we have it for the 20-30 inch snow storms we have at home. We used a 4x2 van to tow our last trailer on the same trails for years and got around just fine. It was a hassle chaining it up for the snow storms but it got around just fine in them too.
