we decided to buy a FW and I found a barely used F350 dually with the bed rails already installed. The like others here bought the B&W Patriot hitch.. easy to install and use. also bought from Tweetys.
set in the rails, slide the 4 pins in and latch/lock as u need.
for the occasional GN trailer, I found a Curt rail based GN adapter for $100 on Craigslist.
I would have preferred the B&W turnover/companion setup to have a cleaner bed floor, but that was $1200 vs the $500 (400+100) I spent.
the Companion max is 18,000lb, while the Patriot is 16,000. my trailer GVWR is 15,400, but unlikely I would ever get close unless the tanks are full. (they have a new Companion model now too, at 20,000)
we bought the trailer 1400 miles away, and I setup the hitch where I wanted it before hand, ready when we drove in to pick up the trailer.
