What is the strongest most reliable type 5th wheel hitch jaw? I currently have a Reese 16K on a slider rails that has the double jaw clamp type. I took the hitch out of a short bed and plan to upgrade...

I carry a torque wrench in my truck for that and to check the lugs on the trailer.
The hitch itself is very easy to hitch and operate. It is very sturdy and dependable. I would buy another B&W hitch.
I think the point was it has to be done every time, regardless whether it is a big deal or not. Where other hitches do not. B&W has a feature that does not seem to make sense, it can be locked in the open position, most of the hitches I have been involved with will close when backed into, whereas the B&W can be locked to prevent closing when backing into.
I have the wrap around J style 18K reese hitch, I too find it to be strong, easy to hitch ,and operate.
