5th Wheel Hook up at Storage Facility

There is a 30 amp outlet next to my fifth wheel where I park it in the barn. I never let it plugged in. I see nothing but a risk of having that system plugged in.

My batt is hard to get to so i have a piggy tail coming out of the case that plugs into as battery tender junior. The batt is always ready to go. All I have to do is turn the remote cut off to on and go inside and do as i want to.

Nothing wrong with plugging it in provided there is a purpose. If it's just to keep the battery charged that could be sufficient reason but just check the fluid level i the batteries about once a month until you know IF or HOW MUCH water it may boil out. I sometimes leave mine plugged in all winter and find I have to add water after about 6 months of constant charging. Keep the water level up and no harm is done. If there is no purpose in leaving it charging all winter then simply disconnect the negative lead to the batteries and hook them back up every three of four months for a day.

I have power available but I unplug and bring the battery inside. Two reasons - As others have said it's a safety issue and if I were a mouse looking for a warm winter home I would probably pick the one with the warm battery and converter. Who knows-maybe they left the remote and some popcorn too. :B

I always leave mine plugged in when in storage. As do most of the other RVs in the covered area of the storage facility where I keep mine.
Keeps the battery charged and I have power for lights, slides, appliances, etc. whenever I go there to check on things.

3 months? Between the boat and camper they seem to keep all 8 months of winter.

If they offer it, I would use it. We had one at a covered storage space a couple of years ago and one of the features was an outlet as advertised. We kept it plugged in to charge batteries and to run some sonic pest control devices.

As stated - the owner eventually starting complaining about the bill because some folks would run space heaters, so he starting charging almost $35 a month for the electric. I quickly unplugged, and actually moved my rig to another place.

The place I have it in storage is very nice they have electrical plugs for all the covered storage lots. And 90 Percent of the Campers are plugged in.
