I think the combination of opposing forces in this incident might have very caused just about any similar hitch design to separate. You probably couldn't recreate this if you tried. Most videos I've seen of an RV overturning shows a rather slow or gradual event. In this case, it might have happened more rapidly. Of course, it's all just speculation.
