On the way home this evening I saw a TT rolled over across two lanes of the interstate. As we approach the holiday weekend it was a reminder to me to not rush and to keep adequate vehicle spacing. I'm not accusing this guy of speeding or following too closely, since I didn't see the accident happen. (no injuries btw). The skids gave the impression of a fairly straight panic stop before things got wonky.

we cant our football team plays at home but going up thursday to beat traffic

I feel so sorry for them. That had to be terrifying. Just from the position of the vehicles, I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't related to a sway that got out of control.

I wonder if a panic stop caused the trailer to jack-knife. I've had to do many 65-0 panic stops because of conditions ahead.

Looks like a spare tire and possibly a generator on the rear bumper of the trailer.

Panic stops can do that.. Looks like too little tow vehicle for too much trailer to me. The car could not control the trailer.

In any case... I know a few folks who go to scenes like that and figure out what happened... And trust me when I tell you they are very good at their jobs.

I'm not one of them though... Oh, I've done the odd very simple fender bender. but never anything complex.

Hi, That looks like a suburban and a smaller trailer (25' maybe) and we do not even know if it is a superlight or not. Even if it is not, that is more than enough tow vehicle.

The SUV is the GMC version of the Suburban. The trailer was more like 26' to 28'. The SUV clearly jacknifed and ended up facing opposite to. The flow of traffic. My best guess is either TT brake failure or not enough brake pressure from the TT brakes. At some point the trailer was pushing the SUV and caused the jacknife.
