Try tweeking your brake controller. Sounds like the trailer brakes are coming on to light and it is pushing the truck OR If you are hearing a banging when you apply the brakes then the trailer brakes are to heavy and the truck is being jerked back by the trailer.
It sound like you are at the limit of your trucks capability, although I pull a 10,000lb 5et with my 2008 Duramax crew cab with no problems and a ride so smooth my wife enjoys driving it too.
I cannot see any reason to air down the tires with that load on the back.
