Can you put a full size BBQ in your front compartment? Cause it's really easy to load one of those into a truck bed and strap it down. I have a brother in law who does it all the time and when we camp together it's nice having a full size BBQ with 9 people between our families.
I get that FW's generally have more cargo storage in them than TTs, but you still give up a lot of flexibility in terms of stuff you can carry in the bed with a FW.
Yes I can. I have a 3 burner Camp Chef with the Oven in the front of my 5er, along with 4 lawn chairs, 1 2'x4' table, patio rug, little Buddy heater, 4 GC batteries, Wingard X2 Sat, small tote for tools, small tote for portable 12V water pump, ax, Honda 2000W gen and on the rear of the 5er 2 Mtn bikes and an 18 Gal tote.
In the truck bed I carry when needed, 3 7 gal water jugs, firewood, 4' ladder, gas can for gen and a 50' extension cord.
On top of the truck are two 10' kayaks.
I leave everything in the 5er thats in it. So unpacking is minimal.
I meant an actual full size non-folding BBQ. My point is simply that there is a cost in terms of cargo carrying flexibility when one opts for a fifth wheel over a TT. Unless the fifth wheel is a toy hauler, anyway.
