- Atom_AntExplorerWe paid our first year a couple of months ago, and was a bit over $3,000, and that included a little overpayment refund for sales tax at the Dealer, and 11 months credit for registration on the last rig. Next year it could actually be higher. Oh well, it is what it is.
- DavinDExplorerThe VLT (Vehicle License Tax) is a bit high here in AZ. This is the most expensive part of the registration. However, I would put the highways here up against many other states. They are very well maintained. ADOT does a real good job with that.
I'm certainly not a big fan of taxes, but at least I do get some value out of this one. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

April 5th I picked up a new 5er and paid $2500 sales tax. April 29th I registered the new 5er and the TV and paid $2200.00 excise tax. That is a total of $4700.00 taxes paid in the month of April. Ouch. We do get some of our pot holes filled, usually around the end of November thru the first of April. Frozen water is less expensive during the cooler months.

That is insane!!!!!! - travelnutzExplorer IIAnother reason why we love Michigan as all non-motorized trailers or RV's with wheels have a ONE TIME registration/license fee charge good for as long as you own it. The fee amount is according to the dry unloaded axle RV title weight. $75 for up to 2499 lbs, $200 for 2500 lbs to 9,999 lbs and $300 for over 10,000 lbs. Sales tax is 6% of purchase price on the bill of sale and $15 one time title fee if applicable. No other taxes, personal property taxes, or charges/fees ever! Super cheap!

All of you should be glad you don't live in SC espicially Darlington county. I do have a high end 5th wheel paid over 100 to transfer the tag from my old camper saving the first year's tax. My renewal just came up. It was over $1580 bucks
Mine is actually sitting on the table in front of me. $1686. - elkhorn98Explorer~$110 in Kalifornia

Good point.... tax dollars spent on rubberized asphalt here
in the Phoenix metroplex.... smooth as silk... think I heard
the truck and rv say "thank you" on the last run. Doesn't seem
to be the same (yet) down in Tucson (roads are obstacle courses,
with evasive maneuvers called for to dodge I.E.D.'s). More
Environmentalists per capita .
I've heard very sad news about the fiscal state of Michigan and
its ability to support infrastructure.... hope we get out of this
soon.... (born in Mt. Clemens).
I'm in favor of "permanent" RV registration.

In Michigan it's $200 up to 10K and $300 over 10K for a permanent trailer registration. - WeBeFulltimersExplorerIn Tennessee my truck renewal is $32.00 which includes $5.00 Chattanooga city sticker and delivery to my mailbox. The first tag when truck was new was the same. Fiver first tag and renewals is $14.00. :B
