I purposely did not include photos of people as to not cause any further embarrassment. As for whether the owner knew I was taking photos, he was standing beside me when I took them. As I stated, the damage appears to be the tailgate and bumper only.

I saw this happen once. Felt so bad for them. What a shame.

It's amazing the bed doesn't appear to be damaged. If it's only the tailgate, they're lucky.

Sad...kinda makes me think the owner may have chocked the wheels on the rig, pulled the hitch release, and forgot to drop the front landing gear and open the tailgate, then pulled out with the truck. Crazy stuff can happen like that when someone is talking to ya!!! Need more pix to analyze the situation better. rockin'

My friends Montana's landing gear snapped... but it did that before he tried to unhitch... just putting the landing gear down in prep to unhitch. one of the legs gears just broke.

Stinks for the person in the photo... I hope they can get it sorted out.

Looks like more then tailgate to me but hard to tell.I would think if he pulled out w/out putting landing gear down it wouldve slammed onto rails of truck.i bet some catastrophic failure of landing gear.Strange.

On edit as another poster said I can see the landing gear laying on ground.Geeze.I dont think I wouldve tried to put my truck under it to try to save it though.One claim vs two.

Not mine - Happened as we were coming in. He is a couple sites over from us.

I don't see any landing gear. Looks like the truck pulled away before landing gear was put down.
