I travelled 150 miles each way two years in a row on tires that were 4 & then 5 years old with many cracks in the sidewall, one tire had a crack that was an 1/8 inch wide near the rim.
The only reason I did this was I felt I needed to get more for my money out of these tires. They only had about 10,000 miles on them and lots of tread. The cracks were my fault for not covering the tires while storing the trailer in between trips.
If I had to travel further or in hot conditions, I would not have done it.
