Since I am always accused of being a B&W fan boy I may as well comment!
I had a RBW with the two rails that ran long way in the bed I thought that was thew best hitch of them all!
I am to this day thankful to the friend I bought my 98 RAM from that talked me into the Gooseneck and Companion. I always did a pull test with the RBW but after a while of doing the same with the B&W the light came on! I finally figured if the kingpin and hitch plates ate touching the handle is closed and locked and a quick visual the 1" thick jaws are wrapped around the kingpin there is no reason to do a pull test just a "VISUAL TEST" !
They in my opinion are the highest quality hitch available the only other hitch I would consider would be a Hensley air bag hitch it has the same type of locking head.
My new RAM on order has the factory prep and I will shortly be ordering a RVK3600 that has 25K towing and 6250 pin capacities. I will be ordering from tweets.com along with another distinguished member of this Forum.

They are great.
However I did not order a B&W Companion for several reasons. One the fact that it takes up most of the bed so there is no room for a genny. Second as some have mentioned I don't care for the way it pushes against the bed. Even with the rubber pads underneath you could still damage the bed due to the small surface area that is contacting the bed. I think a large steel plate underneath the hitch would spread the load out over more of the bed. Third B&W doesn't have an automatic slider.
I ordered the Pullrite Slider hitch and the Superrails that will fit into my B&W hitch hole. - Bamaman11ExplorerI too have a B&W Patriot 16K hitch. What I liked, other than workmanship, is the adjustability of the hitch--front and back, up and down. That's especially important with some new trucks' bed height being relatively high.
- Ram4SamExplorerFor over twenty years and several tow rigs, I bought and fought cheap hitches and tripped over the bed rails......so happy I pulled my head out and bought a B&W hitch this time. The fit, finish and operation is fantastic. It took me longer to unpack the two boxes and read the directions than it did to install the turnover ball hitch. Thanks B&W!
Sam - NC_HaulerExplorerI'm looking at selling my hitch and "picture frame adapter" and purchasing the B&W hitch that mounts to the Ram puck system...Looks to be a great set up and hoping to have it "ready to go" first trip out this year...
- kennethwoosterExplorerI'm pretty new to B&W, but find it to be the best hitch I've ever used. Since 03 I've had 5 separate hitches, and this is the easiest to hitch and unhitch. Also takes up less bed space. I did like the Pullright SG. Went to long bed with the puck system. This is a great set up. Took the hitch dealer 30 minutes to install the hitch. He took it right out of the shipping box, put together and installed in that time. I received a invitation to tour the factory and would enjoy that, but probably won't get to do that. Very good company.
- sljkansasExplorerOne thing nobody has posted was that when the RV industry tanked a few years ago, they did not lay anybody off. He put them to work and the rebuilt the baseball field, and did other community service and paid the employees. Now that's a company I respect.
I've had my B&W since 2004, other than the scratches on the hitch from throwing things in the bed with the hitch installed, and loosing one of the pins (none of which was any fault of theirs, it has worked flawlessly.
You can buy any hitch, but the B&W is hands down the best. - PmsPksExplorerX2 on B.O.'s comment. Quality is top notch! Haven't had any issues, so haven't had to deal with CS. Doubt I will.
- retispcsiExplorerI agree as a very satisfied B&w customer. The product is great made with American steel in the heartland. Their customer service is great also as they shipped me parts at no cost and even paid to ship the old parts back.
