So on the holiday we just got back from the vent over rear kitchen fell apart, it was all in pieces, so I guess even with the cover over it the sun still gets to them, it is a 2004 model, anyway have ...

Good to hear (read) it turned out well.
As others have said, a different ladder choice might be in order for your second project.
Maybe a short extension ladder?
BTW - ladders attached to the rear of 5ths, MH's, and TT's are a
design for disaster - but make a nice place to tie off the top of an extension ladder with a much better (and safer) climbing angle..;)
